Ep. 2 — Are Women Actually Ruining the Motorcycle Scene?
I'm back and I'm coming in hot on two things that matter to every new female rider: the anxiety that follows you into year two, and the haters who think you don't belong in the first place.
First, I get honest about what heading into a new riding season actually looks like after a season full of dropped bikes, a deep tissue bruise from a hill gone wrong, and a Jeep full of dudes who witnessed the whole thing.
The rides weren't as bad as my brain told me they were… but that didn't stop the self-doubt from showing up louder than ever when spring rolled around.
Then a comment lands in my Instagram: "You ladies are ruining the bike scene." And I have some thoughts.
I break down the real numbers on women in motorcycling — where we started, where we are, and where we're headed — and make the case that the loudest voices in the room are also the smallest minority. I also get into why community isn't just a nice-to-have for new women riders: it can actually be the thing that determines whether you stick with it.
Plus: I'm hauling my Yamaha R3 800 miles on a trailer, possibly getting a ride on a Kawasaki Vulcan, and I have an exciting first look coming up that I think sportbike riders are really gonna to want to hear about.
Viking Bags reached out about their Momentum Extra Large Expandable Sportbike Saddlebags — designed specifically for sport bikes like my Yamaha R3. If you've ever wondered how to carry your must-haves without a backpack or a thigh bag, this one's for you. Check them out here: Viking Bags Momentum Sportbike Saddlebags
Disclosure: This is a gifted partnership with Viking Bags. They're providing the saddlebags; I'll be providing my completely unfiltered take in an upcoming review.
